Wow...episode iii rules! - Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith Reviews

This was a great movie! It was definitely better than Episodes I and II. I think it was even darker than Episode V. For example...Anakin wiping out the Younglings and disposing of the Separatists without any hesitation at all (pure evil). Another example is when he turns against Obi-Wan, who trained him and thought of him as a brother. It shows the downfall of a good Jedi to an evil Sith Lord. This is especially true when you think about the irony of Padme's death. In Anakin?s dreams, he saw her suffering/dying while in labor. Because Anakin was afraid to loose Padme, he pursued the Dark path to ?save her?. It turns out that he actually was the cause of her death. He turned against the person that he deeply loved and who was pregnant with his son and daughter. As always, the visuals were great. The light saber duals were spectacular...especially Anakin vs. Obi-Wan and Yoda vs. Darth Sidious. Mace vs. Darth Sidious was good too. He actually had him beaten...but Anakin chopped off his light saber hand and that allowed Darth Sidious to take Mace out. Obi-Wan taking out General Grievous was cool too. The ending of the movie took us right into Episode IV with Bail Organa taking Leia to Alderaan to raise with his wife and Obi-Wan taking Luke to Tatooine so Owen and Beru could raise him. Yoda and Obi-Wan went into hiding to wait for the day when they could train Luke and re-establish the Jedi Order. Bravo George!

(SPOILERS AHEAD) Predict this movie Ocsar-Worthy I do. In my opinion, the best of the six. This film is a good way to start off the original trilogy (IV, V, VI). It has the best action and most of all the best story of the six. The dueling senses were done really well. The space battle in the beginning, the battle of the wookies on Kashyyyk, and the duels were not cheesy or fake-looking at all. Aside from all the brilliant action, now the story. The story was done well. There was not a dull moment. Episodes I and II should have been done in this fashion (no dull moments I mean). I was hooked. All of the key events of the movie like Anakins transformation into Darth Vader, Clones turning against the Jedi, and Supreme Chanceller Palpatine revelaed as the Dark lord of the Sith, Darth Sidious(known in the original trilogy as The Emperor) were all done greatly and were told in extrodanary detail and emotion. George Lucas and the crew have taken us where no Star Wars movie has ever done before, emotionally, epicly, and darkly. The emotional and sad senses were well put together. What helped too was John Williams' brilliant soundtrack. The music made the senses more powerful. Probably the best soundtrack of the saga. Now the acting... Hayden Christensen (Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader)Haydens performance was absolutely well done. He really unleashed himself in this film. He improved much sinse Episode II. He did well as a good guy. In this film he slowly gets lured to the Dark Side because of Palpatine's/Sidious' promises of power that will save his wife. Along with other reasons like Sidious' lies about the all Jedi betraying the Republic, and Padmes death which Sidious says to Vader that he was the cause of her death. He plays an angered young adult named Ankain Skywalker who soon becomes Darth Vader. Ewan McGregor (Obi-Wan Kenobi) I think think the best performence in the movie. Every word he says is perfect and fits right in. His emotions, the looks on his face, and fighting moves (including Haydens)are stunning. He plays a Jedi master who is Anakins trainer and friend. Their friendship soon comes to a tragic end. Ian McDiarmid (Palpatine/Darth Sidious) As much as I wanted to rip his head off, his performance was absolutely amazing. Almost as good as Ewans. He was perfect for the part. The evil Sith Lord can none other me played by Ian. His voice, dialouge, movements, and emotions were perfect. He plays a Jedi master who is Anakins trainer and friend. He plays the dark Lord of the SIth, Darth Sidious. He is the main reason for the Clone Wars, assassinating of the Jedi, the formation of the Galctic Empire, the turning of the clones and formation of them, and suducting Anakin. Natalie Portman (Padme Amidala Skywalker) She was good to. The emotional side of her character was really brought out in this one. The senses between her and Anakin were sweet. It was a big loss when she died. Not the best actor in the film but still very good. The only flaw may have been her dialouge or her emotions. She plays a fomer queen turned into a senator. Married to Anakin, she gives birth to twins. She meets her end at childbirth. Jimmy Smits (Bail Organa) Even though he didnt have the biggest part, he was excellent. His dialoge was great. His charactor was just great. He plays a senator. He is a great friend to Jedi and adopts Leia, daughter of Padme. He meets his end in Episode IV when a deadly blast from a battle staion destroys his home planet, Alderan. Samuel L. Jackson (Mace Windu) The looks in his face. His battle moves, and his dialouge were all perfect. He is perfect. It was a sad and terrible loss when he was killed. Or should I say, the way he was killed. He was excellent in each prequal (same with Ewan McGregor). He plays a Jedi Master who meets his end in a battle between Darth Sidious. Christopher Lee (Count Dooku) He has a small part sadly. Not one of my favorites. But still a good actor in the movie. His dialouge is just a tiny bit corny. He plays a Sith Lord, apprentice to Lord Sidious. He meets his end in a duel angainst Anakin. Partially the fault of Sidious. Yoda, the Wookies, C-3PO, R2-D2, General Grievous were also awesome. Espessialy Yoda, Grievous, and R2's new moves. The dialouge was not bad as people say, it was just different from the other five. Basicly the whole movie is differnt from the other. This is definetly worthy of technical oscars and possibly some major ones. I also loved it because its touch of laughs. And it definetly deserved that PG-13 (for Sci-Fi Violence and Intense Images) rating. Last thing... Reccomendations: Sci-Fi films, fantasies, and war films. All should have some Drama. This film did. Just Dad and son off for a Jedi bonding experience at the movies. Dads' take on the Sith. First, a quick personal view on the movie: Nearly the best of the entire series (all 6)! I just about lost my faith in Lucas in Episode I with Jar Jar...childish tripe certainly designed for the sub-10 year old crowd. Then the awkward start to Episode II had (what I considered) the worst-acted/directed, most ill-timed "animosity" scenes between Anakin and Obi-Wan I could imagine. Only near the middle of the movie II did I begin to actually allow myself back into the story without critical resrvation. So, on to Episode III, with some trepidation as a parent...How could Lucas possibly turn Anakin evil without throwing every little kid he had so carefully marketed his prior movies to into a depressed and disillusioned hero follower??? With Mastery of story-telling. Something I had thought George lost some years back. Well...My faith is restored. First off...This story will likely be initially somewhat disturbing to the younger crowd. If they haven't watch Episode IV-VI in a while, the end of this movies would certainly seem unsatisfying. My 8 year old son was a bit sad that Anakin "ended" where he did in the movie. I had to remind him that this "end" is just the beginning of the story of Luke, and the eventual return of Anakin from the Dark Side in Episode VI. With that explained and remembered, my son felt much better about the ending of Episode III. What really impressed me, though, was the ability of Lucas to still paint Anakin/Vader in a somewhat sympathetic light, right to the last frame of the movie. In that sense, I believe that is what left the young-uns in the crowd to feeling somewhat confused. This is where, I belive, some directed discussion is required. I asked my son what he thought the moral of the story was. He mustered an answer that scratched the surface..."Don't let yourself become evil." My answer: "Maybe it's not that simple...if you stopped the Star Wars series at III, it seems evil has been doing quite well. Sure, you lost some friends and loved ones...but hey you gained all that power. Don't you think that's a decent trade?". My sons' response: "Nope." "Why would you say no?" "Because Vader doesn't seem to have anyone to care for...he lost his family. He's powerful, but the Sidious guy lied to him." "Do you think Sidious cares for Anakin?" "Nope...he just thinks he's a good fighter for his side." "So, in that sense, I guess you're right...evil hasn't really paid off for Ankin. But was Anakin always evil? Did he really want to choose the Dark side?" "Nope..I think he just wanted the powers that came with the Dark side so he could save Padme." "So he was lured by the power, but thought he could still be a good guy, huh? So I guess the moral might be "Even a well-intentioned good-guy might choose the wrong path if he doesn't choose his leaders and friends carefully". Ans so it went...I think by the end of the discussion, my son grew much fonder of the movie, than he was when the lights came up. As for the violence...no blood, but a few scenes I would expect you could see on any network at any time of the day. The only part I felt squeemish about with my son was when Anakin turned on the young children apprentices of the Jedi. Nothing graphic, but the point was made that Anakin had certainly embraced the Dark side, at that point. I wondered if the massacre of children might come up during our discussion. It didn't, but I still don't know how I feel about kids watching that part. Essential to the story, and a huge turning point, but not the easiest of character twists to explain to a child, especially when we try to find some good in Vader/Anakin at the end of movie VI. Overall, I'd say it was a quite positive experience for my son, with really good sfter-movie discussion in the car, and back at home as to the ease at which "evil" can creep up on you. Well, that's a Dad's take on Episode III. I hope this helps a bit for those of you considering braving the PG-13 rating with your most valued padawan learner!

Imagine a boy of four going to his first movie, and that movie happens to be "Empire Strikes Back." Imagine the fear Darth Vader inspired in this boy and the revelation that this monster could actually have a child. Not only that, but the child of this villian is your rock floating, lightsaber wielding hero he'd come to idolize. This is almost too much to absorb for a young kid. With no frame of reference, the child witnessed the most awesome chapter of the trilogy. That's a lot to put on his shoulders, especially when years later, he's forced to compare "Sith" with the culmination of expectation twenty eight years of Star Wars Movies. How is it possible to see this film with the unclouded eyes of a child? How can one be as wowed by a new film when the last twenty eight years have wowed us in so many different ways and so many forms? We've come to expect George Lucas to turn us back into younglings, make us believe that it's real, that we can get there, that it did happen. And so we get older and begin to see through things, see the cracks and nails and fake walls, and everything loses its luster. And so we waited all these years to see it finished, hoping for miracles, but expecting a letdown. Lucas wouldn't do that to us, would he? Nope. This movie is a time machine. Strap into your theater seat, and make sure to be completely dehydrated before going in so you don't miss a second. You want lightsaber battles, wait a few minutes. You want a space war, you got it. You want the minutae of background characters going about their days while the drama goes on in the foreground, it's there (there's even a shot of the millenium falcon landing on Coruscant if you look closely). You want to see the extent of the power of the force, you get it, and more. There is nothing amiss. Now, granted, there are a few lines of corniness that can be overlooked. Remember, this is a space opera. People sometimes don't talk like they really do, especially when it comes to love. Even when these lines of love are uttered, the scene cuts quickly to another scene so it doesn't linger like it did in those drawn out scenes in part II. Needless to say, the climactic showdown between Anakin and Obi-Wan paralleled by the Emperor and Yoda, are perfectly matched, with lightsabers whirring in one shot, and a battle of both sabre and forces flinging objects in the other. There are fantastic shots, reminiscent of Lord of the Rings, where the two combatants face off on a platform way too big for a set piece, and it feels real. The special effects finally ousted our noses high notion that computers couldn't fool us. Maybe it isn't fooling us, but it is so well done here that moments into the movie you stop asking if it was computer generated, and just sit on the edge of your seat, teeth clenced with anxiety, sweaty palms in tow, and stare in wonder. Just like you did back when you were a little boy.

Wonderful story, intense battles, incredible visuals, touching and sometimes disturbing plot turns. I'm not the biggest Star Wars fan out there, but I went to the midnight showing with my husband and some friends, and I have tons of praise for the movie. I do have criticisms, a few parts could have been more clear and you would expect more from some of the actors, but it's so entertaining and exciting that you can easily forget all that. It's so engaging that some people in the theatre were crying by the end. And it does wrap up all the stories nicely. Very, very, very good!

A damn good movie! - Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith Reviews

Upon seeing Star Wars: Revenge Of The Sith early this morning, I let it sink in all day to form my opinion. After all that thought, I concluded that this was a damn good movie... and probably my favorite of all 6 episodes (definitely of the episodes 1-3)! One of the things I liked about this movie is the way it presents Anakin Skywalker (Hayden Christensen). George Lucas made you believe that, although we know Anakin was evil, he did not believe himself to be evil. In fact, he thought he was doing the right thing, even though some of those things were undeniably wrong. Also, many of the mysteries were finally answered. We all knew Anakin was Darth Vader, and that Vader was the father of Luke Skywalker and Leia, but now we know how and why they were separated. We also know how Darth Vader came about and why the need for the costume. All this and more! A review of this movie would not be complete without mention of the spectacular special effects. Every shot in the movie is stunning and hard to look away from. The action starts from the very beginning and does not let up, except for some minor love scenes. The light saber battles between Anakin, Obi-Wan Kenobi (Ewan McGregor), Yoda, Mace Windu (Samuel L. Jackson) and General Grievous were all done extremely well. Even R2-D2 got to kick some butt! Overall, as you can probably tell, I loved this installment of the series. All of the questions were answered and was more action packed than I could have hoped for. Definitely recommended.

Out with the old in with the new - Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith Reviews

This is not only the best star wars movie ever, but its also the best movie ever. I dont get some of these fans, that say they didn't like the other two cause there was either an annoying character or a stupid love story and not enough action. So Lucas took care of that and people still bitch. The bottom line is they are all biased and there can never be another star wars outside the original trilogy good enough for them. Now they are not even consistent with thier dislikes. They are finding any small excuse not to like this movie as if they could write a better one themselves as they sit in the theatre with thier arms crossed from the get go. This movie is fantastic and Ill probably see it again and again, forget the old trilogy this is better than all of them put together.

First off, the movie was really good. there's a good story, some ends where tied and some weren't... but at the end of the movie, gues what? it's just a movie! i know there's Star Wars fans out there that will give their left arm for a chance to direct this movie, but you know what? if you really think this movie was crap, i'd like you... no no... i DARE you to post your name here. i will look up your name for movies or awards won, and if you don't have any, i'm going to clown you as much as i clow Ashton Kutcher for claiming that he can act. now, if you didn't like the movie, then don't go see it again, and don't buy the DVD... as for me, as soon as the six of them come out, they're going straight into my library. now get off your computer and shut up. you have "star trek" to go watch! =P

For those people who said it was predictable and boring...I think you missed the whole point. Yes we pretty much know what's going to happen, but what we don't know is HOW that happens and all the details behind it. And that's exactly what this movie is about...: what was the other reason that Anakin joined the dark force, how the cloned army turned against the Jedi, how and why Yoda went to exile, how Anakin got into the Darth Vader suit and finally what happens to Padm頡nd her babies. Well I guess Anakin couldn't save her after all...; It leaves the true fans satisfied and the not-so- much funs now wanting to see episodes 4,5 and 6. The story is just brilliant, George Lucas is just a genius and a true visionary...and as always the visuals are amazing...definately worth seeing. Personally I can't believe this whole saga is over after almost 30 years. It?s kinda bittersweet. May the force be with us all...:)

Star Wars: Episode III: Undoubtly the best star wars movie out of them all. Not only that but it has my vote on the best movie I have ever seen. I have seen plenty of movies in my day and I like to write a review everytime I see a good one. But honestly, this Star Wars is a masterpeice. Many people say that the acting and story line was below average. I have to STRONGLY disagree! Everything about this movie is superb! This review is all personal opinion and there are still many people out there that hate this movie and I can't understand why. There were parts that made me even tear. I guess I'm a slightly sensitive 21 year old guy. But the acting was real and not Cheesy like many people say. There couldn't have been better lines in the situations. Visuals were by far the BESTS visuals I have ever seen since LOTR:Return of the King, and Final Fantasty: The Movie! Even better I must say. The Direction of this movie EXPLAINS everything SO well even for people who HAVENT seen all of the Star Wars movies and/or ARENT a big fan of them. That's what I liked about this movie even MORE than the older ones. Is that in the older ones, people were EXPECTED to know the history of Star Wars so they didnt explain things much. Only hardcore fans would know everything that was going on. But they could'nt have linked this movie with Episode IV any better than they did. It was truly AMAZING!!!!! Overall I really honestly have to say in my opinion that this was the best movie I have ever seen (next to Jurassic Park) (sorry for anyone who didn't like that movie neither).
